That's a good read, I downloaded it to my Kindle a while back. You can tell it's a self published book that hasn't been past an editor which makes it difficult to follow along at times but it has some excellent info.

Hey Mr. A -

Thanks for posting the link!  I'll import that to my Kindle.  Other cool books along these lines, but on a different tack are "Voice of the Crystal" and "Instruments of Amplification".  They are about the distant origins of radio, and how to build working replicas in your garage, using odd bits of hardware that you might have laying around.  The biggest factor is that it dispels the myth that all of our communications has to come from China.

Remember - even just one century ago, a spark transmitter's radio signal traveling between cities was an amateur's goal and between States was a BIG deal! their sets were little more than concoctions from the local hardware store.

And, what did you think?

Sheesh, its one thing to be ignorant, but I don't even know enough to know what questions to ask about digital comm's...  Does this attach to the mic input on the transmitter?  Would it also work with CW translation software?

I'll repeat a question from another thread; Should I start with ARRL's Operating Manual as a guide to where I can go?
