Title: It was my honor to JUST work the USS Oklahoma today!
Post by: White Tiger on December 07, 2012, 06:01:32 PM
On the 71st anniversary of Pearl Harbor I happened upon a Memorial Station working from the War Memorial Museum commemorating the USS Oklahoma: WW2OK...(14.2771)...

Give it a try!

It was pretty neat - I'm submitting for a direct QSL card - I'll treasure that one!

Actually, I corrected my original post -the station is the Oklahoma Amateur Radio Club memorial station officially working from the War Museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma commemorating USS Oklahoma - and the museum holds the largest surviving part of the Battleship - a 45' long, 25,000 pound mast.

429 Sailors & Marines were lost when the Japanese sunk the USS Oklahoma 71 years ago today.

Thanks for the tip.  I worked the QRP station aboard the USS Batfish QRP to QRP on forty meters, a little over one hour ago.
