Hello, I am listening to 14285 right now until 15:00 UTC, using the RT320 and whip antenna.

Let's keep this thread for on-the-air announcements..

Hi guys,
I'm monitoring 10.114 at the moment but if anybody wants to try another band I'm open to anything. It's 17:56 UTC right now and I will be at radio for another hour or so.

Darn, missed it.. Another night?

Sure, whenever you like. I only occasionally get into France. Living about as far way from either coast as a guy can get, and running a lowish OCF dipole doesn't make my QTH and station a DX eating combo.

The PRC-320 Yahoo group uses WhatsApp for impromptu skeds.. I don't like the privacy implications but it works.. I'll post something about it soon..

I just had a QSO with a french station on 14.040. If he's actually in france then the band must be open as he gave me a good RST and i'm running 100W into an inverted v OCF dipole.

Propagation has been decent lately. I made one contact with NC using my RT-320 with the 2.5m whip! Not on the air tonight unfortunately..

As a Mac user, I was recently warned about using WhatsApp (maybe more things are called WhatsApp, but here goes):

The best option these days, as far as easy to use apps go (Jabber is great but not so easy to use or rich in features) is Telegram. There is much media fake news about it, but if you study the FAQ and Advanced details of how it works, you'll see it's way better than Whatsapp etc. https://telegram.org easy to set up groups, channels (for news broadcasts one-way), and direct encrypted chats.
