Title: Hendricks 20m 10watt SSB rigs

Ray, have you come across the original design article for the 'ugly construction' of the monoband SSB rig?

And do you have any links relative to the solid state VFOs you were speaking of?

A friend here locally is interested in building a monobander but for another band that (I assume) Hendricks doesn't yet allow for.

Sorry for the delay, Amigo.

The rig that I am building is for  80 meters only.  I may see about modifying it after it's operating in it's original configuration.  Hendricks does have other SSB kits, most based on the BITx design.  Those - I have read - are easy to put onto other frequencies.

The DDS VFO that I used was from here:

I used their "Super VFO".  It's a very good kit and goes together smoothly, off sets are front panel programmable to match various I.F. mixing schemes.
