Matt, in recent months some improvements for MTR_V2 have been published on the Yahoo group.  A few component changes make a significant improvement in Rx sensitivity.  Plus the firmware has had some features added.  Any idea what your MTR will contain?

I just ordered the caps and inductors for the sensitivity improvment.  Since the parts cost about a dime each I ordered several spares.  If you (or anyone else here) want some I can send you a kit.  It's all through-hole parts, so the hardest part would be getting the board out of the box.

Thanks for the offer Bob it's much appreciated.

I believe it will have the latest mods and firmware. LNR posted an updated stating that they added a diode to the design last minute and updated all the radios before they went out.

My MTR shipped today!

They had some delays but it didn't matter since i haven't grasped morse yet. This will be nice to take on the road with me to practice and listen to other hams on CW.

I'm getting one of these once my code is up to snuff.

Is it really as easy as tuning for noise?

I have been doing Gordon Wests 0-5 Cd's and with some success. I devote a minimum of 20 minutes a day to just sit and listen. He has a nice way of introducing new letters, copying words and doing random runs at different speed, tones and with background noise. So far the dit and dahs seem to be clicking as a letter in my head.

I plan to stick this out till the end and take the CW academy next year if i need to.

Gil,
Picked up a code warrior junior and i like it a lot. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just looked at their website, and thought that could help my CW journey, till I saw this...

"All CW Academy classes for the  September-October 2015  sessions are now filled.
All signups received now will be assigned to the  January-February 2016  sessions."

WOW!  Kudos to them for managing to generate that level of interest.

Dammit, i missed that.

Anyone ever dealt with CW Academy?

http://www.cwops.org/cwacademy.html

I signed up and looking forward to starting. cockpitbob convinced me to buy a kit to build a pico keyer and now i just need a set of paddles. Anyone of a suggestion of a set of paddles that are somewhat portable and not too pricey, say ~$60 give or take?
