Title: Any station this net....
Post by: Genken on September 02, 2012, 03:03:09 PM
Hello, let me introduce myself.

My name is Zach, currently stationed in el paso by the army. I got interested in radio when I was an rto(radio telephone operator) in my platoon awhile back. i went ahead and got my technician license, and maybe I'll get my general soon. Looking for a radio still, have a good idea what i want, but they are a bit pricey.

Good to find a place that hopefully people won't look at me funny when I talk about using a mobile as a manpack.

Typing on phones isn't fun, so maybe when I get to a computer I will clean this one up.

I don't care how many contacts you have made.... EVERYBODY starts out knowing exactly nothing about amateur radio! In my humble opinion, I would prefer every single member ask at least one obvious, simple, newbie question. I feel that as a prepper, my time is limited and I would be quite happy to know that there are members out there that will answer any question I might have, no matter how simple. Learning how to set a cast, or what antibiotics I should use is difficult enough. I dont know everything, but I will help answer any question, even the simple ones. example: what is that V/M button on my yaesu for? (I know the answer, just sayin I wouldn't look down on anybody for asking it!)

Genken, welcome.  Newb to this forum myself, did some time in myself.  The only dumb questions are the ones not asked.
