That has my attention!  The one thing I couldn't find is current draw in Rx.

Is it worth it for $250 versus a used HF radio ?

Depends on what you want to do with it... If you're into digital modes, yes.

Has anyone bought this and tried it out? Looks better than a used 817 radio but would still need more testing. Would think it would have a ANTENNA TUNER module to be comparable. Plus the HF AMP. Any combination that is less than $1000 I suppose.

Good for a entry level SDR but better a second hand 817, if you add the amp, better a KX2

I use this for my main radio. I have a Hardrock 50 amp, but rarely use it. http://www.multus-sdr.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=190
It has the sound card built in and delivers 5 watts on all bands and is cheaper.

817 is $450 used. This is $250. Good bargain difference in price.
