Hello everyone. I have been itching to try and get on 6m and would love a recommendation on a fairly good priced all mode transceiver. I mostly run QRP so im not going to shy away from low power or even kits. I do have a Yaesu Vx-8dr that will do 6m FM but i have never heard anything on it for the several years that i have owned it. Im hoping ill have better luck with CW or SSB. I am also interested in 2m SSB as well but have no idea where to start on a rig...any stories on what has worked for you as far as equipment, antennas etc. would be awesome.
You might get a kick out of the Icom IC-202(e).
Icom has the IC-551 I think it is... I have the IC-251, which is a 2m all-mode transceiver. It's not a small QRP transceiver but still somewhat portable...
